Volunteering can help you learn new skills, meet new people, gain confidence, build relationships and make a difference.
It can provide a sense of self-worth and pride and help you to feel integral to your community.
It can help those who may otherwise be isolated to mix with others and for people from different backgrounds to meet and get to know each other.
It can increase your circle of friends and improve your mood and well-being.
Skills and knowledge you acquire can help you move towards paid employment.
Biddulph Town Council, in co-operation with Sharon Middling, a Biddulph Community Officer at Support Staffordshire, has introduced a ‘volunteering booklet’.
To add your group to the booklet, contact Biddulph Town Council or Sharon on 07715 481064 or email sharon.middling@supportstaffordshire.org.uk, providing your name, contact details, information about your group and a brief volunteering role description.
