‘Tea with the Town Council’ began in 26 June 2019, as part of the Biddulph Festival programme of events. Biddulph Town Council invites residents to a ‘drop-in’ session to meet their Town Councillors and Officers.
Unfortunately, the event was cancelled in 2020, due to COVID-19.
2021’s event took place on the 10 September. The Town Council shared the Annual Report and talked about the Regeneration Plan for the town.
Suggestions were invited for a ‘Local Heritage Register’ (to recognise the buildings and structures that are important to our local area – to support their preservation or enhancement) and for a ‘Community Asset Register’ (listing places which provide a service or amenity which is essential to our local community).
Visitors were asked:
- What buildings do you think are unique or important in remembering local history and should be nominated to the local heritage register?
- What places or buildings provide a service that is essential to the local community and would be of great detriment to the community if they were to close down or be used for something else?
2022’s ‘Tea with the Town Council’ is planned for Wednesday 13 July.
This is your opportunity to speak with your Councillors and Officers, maybe suggest what projects you’d like the Council to work on and generally to provide feedback. It’s a free event, with tea and cake provided. An appointment is not necessary. More details to follow.
You can contact your local Councillor directly throughout the year – their contact details are listed on our ‘Your Councillors’ website page.
